Abstract
This paper presents the newly developed differential balanced symmetrical T-type LC EMI chip filters. Initially, two different types of T-type LC filters, produced by multilayer green sheet technology, were characterized and modeled in the frequency range from 0 to 3 GHz, and then combined into a symmetrical differential configuration. The equivalent circuit model developed for the basic T-type LC chip was used to characterize their differential configuration using the schematic interface in Microwave Office (MWO). an integrated RF/Microwave design tool. In order to verify the measured results, MWO built-in electromagnetic simulator (EM) was used to model and simulate the new differential EMI filters. Obtained simulation results were compared with experimental results and mutual validity of the applied approaches was verified.
