AB - An annual plant, Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera Royle) is globally widespread and one of Europe's top invaders. We focused on two questions: does this species indeed not invade the southern areas and does the environment affect some of its key invisibility traits. In an isolated model mountainous valley, we jointly analyzed the soil (21 parameters), the life history traits of the invader (height, stem diameter, aboveground dw), and the resident vegetation (species composition and abundances, Ellenberg indicator values), and supplemented it with local knowledge (semi-structured interviews). Uncontrolled discharge of fecal wastewaters directly into the local dense hydrological network fostered mass infestation of an atypical habitat. The phenotypic plasticity of the measured invasion-related traits was very high in the surveyed early invasion (30-50% invader cover) stages. Different microhabitat conditions consistently correlated with its growth performance. The largest individuals were restricted to the deforested riparian habitats, with extreme soil nutrient enrichment (primarily by P and K) and low-competitive, species-poor resident vegetation. We showed that ecological context can modify invasion-related traits and what could affect a further invasion process. Finally, this species is likely underreported in the wider region; public attitude and loss of traditional ecological knowledge are further management risks.

osobinama, pre svega zbog visokog sadržaja magnezijuma, gvožđa, hroma i nikla, a
niskog sadržaja kalcijuma.
3 Na pomenutim terenima dominiraju otvorena serpentinitska
staništa koja se odlikuju kserotermnim karakterom1
, na kojima se često javljaju vrste
pontskog i pontsko-mediteransko-submediteranskog rasprostranjenja.
i u klisuru Ibra. Cilj rada bio je objedinjavanje svih dostupnih i novih podataka o
distribuciji pontskih, kserotermnih reliktnih vrsta Astragalus dasyanthus Pall., Oxytropis
pilosa (L.) DC. i endemične vrste Galatella albanica Degen, na teritoriji Srbije. Na
osnovu terenskih istraživanja, pregleda herbarijumskih zbirki i literaturnih podataka,
korišćenjem UTM karata 10 x 10 km2
, prikazana je njihova generalna distribucija na
teritoriji Srbije. Kako su to retke biljne vrste u flori Srbije poznavanje njihovog
rasprostranjenja, stanja njihovih staništa i potencijalno ugrožavajućih faktora
predstavljalo bi dobru osnovu za zaštitu, čime bi se osigurao njihov opstanak.

AB - This paper reports the chorological data on 3 internationally significant floristic species in Serbia, in the Ibar river
valley, Kosovo and Metohija North. Those are: Gladiolus palustris Gaudin, Himantoglossum caprinum (M. Bieb)
Spreng. and Narcissus poeticus subsp. radiiflorus (Salisb.) Baker. It also reports new research findings on a rare
species of vascular flora of Serbia - Phlomoides tuberosa (L.) Moench. The distribution of the mentioned species is
shown in UTM 10 km X 10 km squares, based on the field researches, herbarium collections inspections and
literature data. As the studied species belong to the group of internationally important and rare species, the
familiarity with the status of their populations and degree of their vulnerability would present a good basis for
monitoring their protection both in Serbia and Europe.

Silene noctiflora L., present in the flora of Kosovo and Metohija (Serbia)

AB - The genus Silene (family Caryophyllaceae) comprises more than 700 species and it is one of the larger genera
of the World’s flora. Studying the flora of the plain part of Kosovo and Metohija, in the village of Gračanica,
on the eastern rim of the Kosovo basin (approximately 10 km to the south of Priština), near the Gračanka
stream, we identified a weed and ruderal species, Silene noctiflora. The part of the stream bank is urbanised
and turned into a quay. The quay is regularly maintained implying that the banks are regularly weeded and the
riverbeds are cleaned as the Typha latifolia species rapidly grows; it may be the reason why this species was
not immediately detected and appropriately identified. Except for the afore mentioned locality, the species was
also reported on the neglected arable fields and tilths, around the unkempt orchards, along the new tarmac
road between Gračanica and Laplje Selo, on the locality called Labura. Silene noctiflora is not mentioned for
the region of Kosovo and Metohija in the new and revised edition of the book Flora of Serbia 2.
