Nanoindentation of nickel manganite ceramics obtained by complex polimerization method

AB  - Nickel manganite is very interesting NTC material due to its outstanding
properties and wide field of applications mainly in microelectronics and
optoelectronics and lately in the mobile phone industry. In this work, chemical
synthesis of this material was performed by complex polymerization method (CPM).
The presence of pure nickel manganite phase was confirmed by X-ray analysis. The
obtained fine nanoscaled powders were uniaxially pressed and sintered at different
temperatures: 1000 C -1200C for 2h. Microstructure development during sintering
was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Indentation experiments
were carried out using a three sided pyramidal (Berkovich) diamond tip. Young’s
modulus of elasticity at various indentation depths and hardness of NTC ceramics
were calculated. It was found that the highest hardness and elastic modulus exhibit
the ceramics sintered at highest temperature.

AB  - One of new courses on the fifth-academic year of new curriculum at the University of Novi Sad is "Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) in Electronics". The aim of this course is to provide knowledge of basic EMI design concepts through classical lectures, but also design of EMI suppression components using specially developed simulation tool. In this paper, a few typical design problems and measurement experiments are presented and discussed. Using specially developed simulation tool, student can solve laboratory exercise and learn to design EMI suppressors. In addition, using vector network analyzer and EMC test kit, they can study electrical characteristics of EMI filters currently available at the market and learn measurement techniques, necessary in their future work in the laboratories and in the industry.

AB  - The aim of this paper is to investigate the efficiency of simple structures of ferrite electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppressors in different ferrite materials. The EMI suppressors are fabricated using the ceramic co-processing technology. As a basic material is used Ni-Zn ferrite material. In the middle of a ferrite body, a Pt conductive layer is embedded, which provides a low DC resistance of component. Due to the presence of ferrite material, EMI suppressor behaves as low pass filter (i.e. as a frequency dependent resistor) and provides signal free from distortions.

AB  - The properties of ferrite material as well as geometrical parameters determine the efficiency of ferrite component in electromagnetic interference (EMI) applications. Due to the presence of ferrite material, EMI suppressor behaves as low pass filter (i.e. as a frequency dependent resistor) and provides signal free from distortions. Near ferrimagnetic resonant frequency, component has maximal impedance and efficiently suppresses noise. Better suppression can be achieved by making the conductive layer longer. Three simple structures are analyzed: Line, Zig-zag and Double coil. Nevertheless, longer conductive lines introduce parasitic capacitance, which causes the maximal impedance frequency shift towards lower frequencies. The aim of this paper is to investigate the efficiency of simple structures of EMI suppressors in different ferrite materials. Two Ni-Zn materials are used for fabrication of EMI suppressors: low permeability F14 material (suitable for suppression above 200 MHz; initial permeability er= 220), and high permeability F19 material (which is used for suppression in the range from 20MHz to 200MHz; er=1000). Comparison of the same structure with identical geometrical parameters in F14 and F19 material in the frequency range 1MHz–3GHz shows that the device in low permeability F14 material achieves greater impedance and better suppression (up to 25%).

AB  - U ovom radu su prikazane metode za karakterizaciju feritnih EMI potiskivača i transformatora bazirane na merenju S-parametara, korišćenjem vektorskog analizatora mreža i specijalno razvijenih PCB prilagodnih stepena. Feritni EMI potiskivači i transformatori su realizovani sa komercijalno dostupnim feritnim komponentama. Pokazano je da je predloženi pristup efikasan u predviđanju i analiziranju performansi feritnih EMI potiskivača i transformatora, posebno u visokofrekventnom opsegu.
AB  - In this paper, a characterization of ferrite EMI suppressors and transformers based on S- parameters measurement, using vector network analyzer and specially developed PCB test fixtures, are presented. Ferrite EMI suppressors and transformers are realized with commercially available ferrite components. It is shown that proposed approach is efficient in predicting and analyzing the EMI suppressor and transformer performances, even in high frequency range.
